2PM’s Taecyeon joins Family Outing Season 2 cast

Following SNSD member Yoona’s confirmed appearance, SBS has given the green light for 2PM’s Taecyeon to star in the second season of Family Outing as well.

The production team stated, “With the recent change of Family Outing members, we hope to create a new atmosphere and a new beginning. Seeing as teamwork is essential for the program, we have carefully chosen the new members. We believe that the new members will have a big effect on the show. They promise to show a side of them that has not been seen before.”

So far, the confirmed members of Family Outing Season 2 include Kim Wonhee, Yoon Sang Hyun, Ji Sang Ryul, Yoona and now, Taecyeon.

Although Family Outing Season 2 will be Taecyeon’s first fixed appearance in a variety show since his debut, Ok-tizens are not too happy. In fact, a great majority of Hottests greatly disapprove the recent news. The reasons vary – some are upset because JYP Entertainment has broken the promise of keeping 2PM out of variety shows, and others aren’t happy that Taecyeon will be united with Yoona again.

I would be pretty jealous too if my favorite 2PM member was going to sleep in the same room as an overrated SNSD member (and every week, for that matter). Let’s hope it remains “strictly business” this time too.

Filming is scheduled to begin by the end of this month.

JYP evaluates 2PM’s Wooyoung and Nichkhun

Korean music tycoon JYP, or Park Jin Young, appeared in KBS 2TV ‘Sweet Night’ on the 5th, wherein he answered a couple questions regarding 2PM, the second successful boy band produced under his management.

When asked ‘Among 2PM, who do you anticipate the most?’, JYP replied Wooyoung.

“What has been seen of him until now isn’t even half of his full potential. I don’t think he understands how well he can sing and dance.

When asked, ‘Which member has exceeded your expectations?’, JYP chose Nichkhun.

“Initially, Nichkhun wasn’t trained to be a singer. I worried that his singing and dancing wouldn’t be able up-to-standard, but now I don’t even have such thoughts.”

JYP also spoke about ‘Rice Cake Gorilla,’ a nickname he earned during his stay in U.S. with the Wonder Girls.

“While living in America, I felt a lot of loneliness. I didn’t want to eat American food so instead I only ate Korean food. I ended up eating a lot of rice cakes and that image was captured in photos. However, I don’t eat as much rice cakes now.”

While I trust JYP’s judgment about his own proteges, I personally believe the title of ‘most anticipated member’ is more appropriate for someone like Jaebeom. Although he is no longer an official member of 2PM he is, after all, the one that 2PM and Hottests alike are eagerly waiting for

2PM to release new album in April

Although 2PM’s comeback last November was controversial to say the least, the idol group took music charts, Hottests’ hearts and the entertainment scene by storm with their album 1:59PM.

JYP Entertainment recently announced that the boys would be ending album promotions very soon, but it looks like the boys won’t be out of the spotlight for long – the group will be releasing an album in April 2010!

Details haven’t been released, but this new work is sure to be quite promising with a unique concept. If the boys are able to rock the polka-dot-zombie-pigtail look that we all know from Heartbeat, what can’t 2PM accomplish?

2PM will end promotions this week

Though it’s only been a week since 2PM started promoting Tired of Waiting, it seems like their promotions are coming to an end. On the 10th, they will have their last day of promotions for their “1:59” album.

A JYP Entertainment representative said, “The ‘Tired of Waiting’ performances were something we did to conclude to their promotions. This week, we want to end promotions.”

This is sad news for Hottests, but I’m sure the boys will be back soon, better, faster, and with Jaebeom stronger. However, I must say I’m a little upset because I was hoping to see a lot more of Tired of Waiting promoted on stage. Not to mention, 2PM has not appeared on variety programs either so we don’t even get to see their faces very often.

It looks like that Jewelry won’t be the only ones bidding farewell as 2PM’s Inkigayo stage this week will be their goodbye stage.

Taecyeon Caught in a Love Triangle!

Calm yourselves, Yoona-Taecyeon shippers. This has nothing to do with them, but Taecyeon sure is getting around these days!

Earlier we found leaked pictures from the set of the latest Cass CF, featuring 2PM’s Nichkhun and Yoon Eun Hye. More recently, leaked pictures of Taecyeon on the same set have been released, implying that he will take part in the CF and perhaps even acting as the 2nd man. Yoon Eun Hye, you are one lucky lady. Check out the pictures of this love-fest below!

2PM Endorse Spris

The beastly beasts of 2PM have endorsed their fair share of products, from cellphones to cakes. Most recently, the group has signed on as the new models for the sports fashion line Spris (Pony).

Spris previously had big-named stars like MC Mong, Lee Junki, and Kim Bum to promote their line. The company stated, “”2PM has received lots of love for their strong image as beastly idols. Due to their image, we’ve chosen them as our models because they fit well with Spris’ image.”

A representative of the company went on to say, “We will soon begin filming for CFs, have photo shoots for ads, hold fan signings, and even visit schools! 2PM fans will surely enjoy these events we are preparing for them.”

2010 is off to a good start for 2PM! Who else is excited for this?
