2PM’s Wooyoung woos on Win Win

2PM’s Wooyoung is receiving high praise for his very natural MC-ing on KBS 2TV’s ‘Win Win’. Netizens are all giving him two thumbs-up!

The show aired for the first time today, Feburary 2nd, and the impressive MC line-up included, the main MC, Kim Seung Woo and five assistant MC’s, SNSD’s Taeyeon, 2PM’s Wooyoung, Kim Shin Young, and Choi Hwa Jung.

All the MC’s did well, but Wooyoung in particular, stood out for his exceptional wit. He was always curious about everything, so he constantly began his sentences with, “I’m curious about something…” thus, earning the nickname, ‘Curious Wooyoung’.

Netizens said, “I was worried that Wooyoung would not have a significant role, but he was unexpectedly good,” and “He didn’t seem nervous at all.” Moreover, people have been commenting, “We will be looking forward to more in the future.”

Furthermore, Wooyoung even performed a traditional fan-dance for 10 minutes in Seoul, Sam Sung Dong. This mission was a special promise between him and the viewers of ‘A Very Special Destiny – Let’s Meet Now’.

In the pictures released on the internet, Wooyoung is seen dancing in his ‘Heartbeat’ pants and a fur vest.

‘Win Win’ has already reached 10% ratings on its first episode and it is expected to only improve!

2PM’s Taecyeon receives hate

We can’t deny that 2PM Taecyeon’s popularity has soared since the the last quarter of 2009. The man is everywhere and fans/netizens have been noticing that he no longer has that humble rookie mindset. Instead, they have been criticizing him for becoming “cocky,” but with all the new found fame and glory, I would think that is somewhat understandable.

But that is just my opinion, as fans and netizens are not as understanding. Hazyfiasco of 2Oneday reported:

Taecyeon’s ‘Thanks To’ note from the 1:59PM album has stirred up the netizens once more. When the issue first came up, kHottests remained silent and stayed away from the controversy. Netizens are furious on behalf of the Hottests because of three points:

1. Hottests were not mentioned in his thanks to, but the nut club members were.
2. A shoutout to the nut members are more important than Jay and Hottests.
3. He’s losing his rookie mindset. Netizens have noticed that he’s gotten noticeably big headed and cocky about his fame. (This isn’t the first time he’s been called out on this.)

Although Hazyfiasco’s report puts the blame on netizens, there really is no way to determine whether they are just netizens or actually 2PM fans. I’m sure there is a bit of overlap there, regardless, this is a heated debate and at the time of the report, Hazyfiasco stated, “the article has received over 400 pages of replies, none of which are positive. The article has, as of this moment, 657,213 views and 4,698 replies.”

I poke fun at artists from time to time and say some inappropriate things, but it’s all in good fun. In cases like these however, I find it rather ridiculous that people try to dig up the smallest details to start a heated debate. Sure, Taecyeon seems to have become more cocky and confident, but that’s super stardom for you. What did you think? He’d remain humble and dwell with the commoners forever? Fans, get over it, stars don’t really care about you. And if that bothers you so much, take your hard earned money and send him a douche bag for his next birthday, as opposed to luxury items and gifts.

2PM to appear on talk show and answer netizen questions

2PM has become one of Korea’s hottest groups with their catchy songs, hilarious personalities & overall presence, but the members have yet to appear on a talk show. But that’s all about to change with an upcoming episode of KBS’s Win Win (Seung Seung Gang Gu / 승승장구), Kim Seung Woo’s newest talk show that’s set to premiere on February 2. This show has already caught the attention of many due to its line-up of MCs, which includes Wooyoung and SNSD’s Taeyeon.

The premise of this show is pretty interesting: on each episode, the guests are asked questions by people through a popular Internet portal site.

On February 11, 2PM is scheduled to participate in the filming for a February 16 episode to support Wooyoung. Coupling the fact that this is 2PM’s first talk show appearance since their debut + the cryptic Jaebeom issue, Win Win will undoubtedly be receiving lots of attention. Hottests have long voiced their disapproval of JYPE’s reluctance to disclose much information on Jaebeom; do you think that’s going to change with this show?

Junho confirmed for Dream Team 2

2PM’s Junho appeared in the pilot episode of ‘Dream Team Season 2 – Green Team Is Coming‘, however there was no official confirmation that he would be joining the fixed cast. Earlier today it was revealed that Junho would be in fact joining the show as a regular.

The PD of the show revealed, “It’s been decided that Junho will join us for filming on the 10th with UFC fighters. Junho was always supposed to join the 2nd dream team but due to the Jaebeom incident, things were slowed down a bit.”

Junho will be joining SHINee’s Minho, g.o.d.’s Danny Ahn, FT Island’s Lee Hongki, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and many others on February 10th for his first taping (aside from the already made pilot) and the episode will air on March 7th.

2PM makes nearly $2 million from seven endorsements

Not too shabby for a group that sadly lost its leader last year.

It was recently reported that 2PM has made around $1.7 million from a total of seven endorsements. These include snack brands, beverage brands, cell phones and more. They’ve participated in projects for a huge range of products. After all, what kind of endorsement wouldn’t work with 2PM?

Unfortunately, I’m guessing that most of the money just goes to the company, but that’s just how the industry works – after all, JYPE created 2PM in the beginning.

With 2PM’s upcoming solo activities and possible comeback in coming months, we’ll be seeing more and more of these guys soon!

2PM’s Taecyeon is the leader for the first episode of Family Outing 2

The new season of Family Outing will feature a new system in which they will pick a leader for each episode.

The main producer said,

“We’re not going to have a main MC like season 1 in which Yoo Jae Suk was a leader of sorts. Each episode we will choose a leader. Season 1 was more like a college trip. This season will concentrate more on making Family Outing more about being a family. “The leader” will determine the family’s fate every episode.”

Each episode, the leader will be picked & receive a yellow tag before the family goes on their trip. The leader will decide where everyone sleeps, what food will be eaten for dinner, etc.

For the first episode of Family Outing 2, 2PM’s Taecyeon was chosen as the leader. (Is it just me or are you guys wondering where he put SNSD’s YoonA for the sleeping arrangements?)

He reportedly had to make choices between a nine-person van & huge bus for transportation, pig & chicken for food, and a heated room & an igloo. With these quirky details, I’m kind of getting more excited for this show! The first episode will air some time in mid-February.

2AM, 2PM & SNSD are nuts for each other!

It seems that the members of 2AM, 2PM and SNSD are nuts for each other! Their close friendship resurfaced again with the release of SNSD’s new album OH! In the thank you & acknowledgments section of the album, YoonA, Tiffany and Sunny wrote a special thanks to the “Nuts Meetup” members. The members of this highly prestigious club includes YoonA (Pine Nut), Sunny (Peanut), Tiffany (Almond), 2PM’s Taecyeon (Walnut) and 2AM’s Seulong (Cacao). It is rumored that admission into the club is highly sought after, and that the waiting list to get in can be as long as 17 years!

In their new album, YoonA thanked Cacao and Walnut, Sunny gave a shout out to the Nut Meetup members and Tiffany left a longer message in which she thanked Cacao & Walnut as well as corrected that she was an almond and not a pistachio nut.

Tiffany’s correction is a reference to the thank you Taecyeon wrote in one of 2PM’s albums “And our get-together members~ Peanut, Pine Nut, and was it Pistachio?? Let’s hurry and meet up!!” Seulong have also mentioned the nut members in one of his thank yous in the past “[Thanks to] Seulong-OkOng line, I love the nuts!”

Oh Seulong, if only you knew how wrong that sounds in English. Even still, I would have to say that I agree with him on that one because I too love the nuts. Although the difference between us is that I don’t announce my love of nuts to the world. This is primarily because every time I tell people that I love nuts, they always misunderstand me. I mean I can’t have people walking around thinking that I love peanuts and almonds, yuck!
