The wink kings of Korea meet: Nichkhun and Lee Yong Dae

2PM’s Nichkhun will meet the other “wink king” of Korea, badminton player Lee Yong Dae. The two are both known by fangirls to be quite the charmers with their winks, which have the power of making a girl weak at her knees.

JYP Entertainment said, “Nichkhun will meet Lee Yong Dae at the 2010 Korea Open Badminton Super Series on the 12th.” The two will also share a friendly game of badminton as well.

They are the same age and both are talented in the field of badminton (and winking, obviously). Nichkhun commented, “I really like Lee Yong Dae. I watched him play on TV so it’s an honor to get to meet him. I was a badminton player in America at my school so I’m excited to visit Korea’s badminton venue. I’m looking forward to a good time with Lee Yong Dae.”

So, a wink-off doesn’t happen every day… who’s looking forward to this broadcast?

Hottest transforms Popular idols into Okcats

A certain photo circulating online portal sites has given Korean netizens great laughter as of late–and no, it’s not G-Dragon’s mugshot.

A creative person created drawings of popular idols – including SHINee, SNSD, 2NE1, 2PM, 2AM, MBLAQ and BEAST – in the form of cats, or, more specifically, Okcats. The pictures were made by none other than 2PM’s Taecyeon as he is known to be closely linked with these animals. (note: netizen who uploaded the photos claims it to be Taecyeon while others have said the netizen made false claims to draw more attention to the post).

Although the basic outline of the cats was drawn the same for each idol, the artist added on distinguishing characteristics of each celebrity, such as a Dara’s palm tree hair, G.O’s facial hair and, of course, Jokwon’s ssanti dance.

The doodles may not be aesthetically brilliant (Wooyoung’s cheeks look like tumors), but they are perfect for a good laugh (see: Seulong’s moobs) so sit back, relax and enjoy.

If these photos were really by Taecyeon, maybe he can respond to bloody fan letters with these okcat drawings.

2PM’s Taecyeon is now “okvatar”

First it was Ok-nyeo-shi-dae (Taecyeon + SNSD), then it was Okcats. Now it’s Okvatar!

If you have seen what Ok-nyeo-shi-dae was about, you will definately know what Okvatar is. Okvatar… ovatar… avatar…? That’s right, 2PM’s beast Taecyeon is now a character from the current hit-movie Avatar! As we have seen with the face mash-ups of Taecyeon and the members of SNSD, his face is now mashed up with the character Na’vi from Avatar. Fortunately, Taecyeon wasn’t the only one to get his face mashed up. Other 2PM members like Wooyoung (Jangvatar) and Nichkhun (Nickvatar), as well as Kara’s Goo Hara (Goovatar), Brown Eyed Girls‘ Ga-In (Sonvatar) and SNSD’s YoonA (Yoonvatar) had their faces mashed up as well. Oh, and there was one more person who had his face mashed up… and it’s none other than United States’ president, Barack Obama (Ovatar)!

What would be the reason as to why Taecyeon became a parody king? Well, for starters, his good looks, but also his increase in popularity from Baek Ji Young’s duet song Ear’s Candy, to various funny appearances on variety programs. All of this has earned him the reputation of being the “friendliest” member of the group. Taecyeon’s popularity will only grow though, as he was cast in SBS’s Family Outing Season 2 as well.

Jaebeom Acknowledges Fans’ Support!

It has definitely been awhile since we’ve seen or heard from 2PM’s ex-leader Jaebeom. To our luck, a recent picture of the Leadja has been floating around since yesterday which, of course, has caught the eyes of many netizens!

Just yesterday, a fan uploaded Jaebeom’s picture onto Daum’s notice board. Seeing that this is the first news on Jay in 2010, it was bound to catch the attention of many! And ever since the picture was uploaded, it received over 16,000 inquiries and 500 comments! Personally, I’m not surprised as Jaebeom’s presence, or lack thereof, has always caught the attention of fans and anti-fans alike.

However, the bigger news of this picture is that Jaebeom is seen wearing a t-shirt sent by Korean fans. In addition, his dance crew Art of Movement is also seen sporting the same shirt. It looks to me like Jaebeom is finally acknowledging the fans for their support!

On a side note…
(Although this picture was uploaded just yesterday, some fans have voiced that this may have actually been taken back in December due to a dance video on Youtube featuring Art of Movement with the same shirts on. However, for all as we know it may as well be new since they have probably worn those shirts on more than one occasion.)

2PM’s 10×10 ‘Kiss Me’ Event Pictures Revealed!

Not too long ago, we brought you the news that 2PM will be hosting a special event with 10×10 called ‘Kiss Me.’

To promote the event, 10×10 has updated their site with more 2PM pictures. And as an added bonus for fans, 10×10 now sells super cute 2PM mugs with their own lip prints on them! (I only wish I could get my hands on one…) So, if the event name didn’t catch your attention the first time, I’m sure that these photos will!

What does 2PM think of 2AM’s upcoming track?

Aah, the perks of being part of the One Day family… 2PM sans Taecyeon (and Jaebeom) got a quick preview of brother group 2AM’s upcoming album, and the feedback is looking positive!

A quick translation of the conversation by teknicolorsushi of Youtube:

2PM: Ohhh~ it’s so good.
Wooyoung: [It has a familiar sound], but it’s still different in a way
Junho: Let’s not promote at the same time they’ll be promoting, they’ll just knock us down.
Junsu: Yeah, let’s just give up.
Junho: I totally thought of this kind of melody recently while I was composing.

Kim Byung Se is a Taecyeon fanboy

It seems like actor Kim Byung Se is a big fan of 2PM’s Taecyeon. Then again, who isn’t?

On today’s episode of Star Golden Bell, Kim Byung Se talked about how his eye is drawn to male idols as well as the girls. He said, “Of course I love girl idols but there is one person that my eye is drawn to. It is Taecyeon. His body is amazing.”

The MC’s and other guests were a bit surprised by his confession and asked him, “Why do you get happy seeing Taecyeon’s body?” Kim Byung Se answered, “I like to work out and I know how hard it is to get a body like that, so I’m just jealous.” Here is a man that actually has the guts to come out and say it.

Later in the show, Kim Byung Se was supposed to guess something that more than 15 but less than 18 celebrity guests on the show could relate to. He said, “Have a fantasy date with another celebrity.” A fellow guest then joked, “So for you, that’s Taecyeon.”

2PM’s Tired of Waiting on Inkigayo

2PM’s performances are always charismatic and hot. Tonight was no different, as they performed “Tired of Waiting,” their second promotional track from the 1:59 PM album.

Also, member Junho took over Taecyeon’s place as a special host for today’s Inkigayo! With his cute eye smile and adorable charm, Junho did quite an excellent job for the day and it kind of made me wish he was a permanent host since the beginning! Who knows, maybe next time.

Fans love Junho on Inkigayo

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Rain’s long lost brother 2PM’s Junho would be filling in for fellow band mate Taecyeon on the January 10th episode of SBS Inkigayo. For unknown reasons, Taecyeon was not able to host the show and was out for “personal reasons.”

Many wondered how well Junho would do, and the it looks like fans loved him and thought his curly hair was extremely cute. Taecyeon will be resuming his role as MC but fellow band mate and MC Wooyoung doesn’t think it’s necessary and even whipped out his finger phone and told the rapper that he and Junho were fine without him.

Taecyeon and the boys of 2PM are putting on their final performance of Tired of Waiting on the 17th. However, TV appearances for Taecyeon won’t end there since he’ll also be making a regular appearance on season 2 of Family Outing.

So who do you think is a better host: Taecyeon or Junho?

JYP is Jealous of 2PM’s Nichkhun?

It seems that on the same episode of KBS2TV’s ‘Sweet Night’ where JYP / Park Jin Young praised 2PM’s Nichkhun for “exceeding his expectations,” he also expressed how Nichkhun has made him feel jealous.

JYP explained that after a performance with 2PM, a group of fans came up to him to share their admiration and congratulate him on the performance. The excited fans even went as far as to say that JYP was “hotter than 2PM.” Unfortunately for JYP, the adulation from these so called fans was short lived. The gaggle of fans were quickly distracted once 2PM’s Nichkhun came within striking distance and like a Tiger around a piece of juicy meat, Tiger Woods around a semi-attractive women, they abandoned JYP and ran to Nichkhun’s side to fanatically venerate him.

With an awkward smile which caused the audience to laugh, JYP wrapped up his story by confessing that as a fellow singer, that moment left him feeling some jealousy towards Nichkhun’s popularity.

That was a cute story by JYP, but I don’t believe it for a second. I believe that you may have been “fan-blocked” by Nichkhun, what do you expect from teeny-bop fan-girls, but I don’t believe that you were jealous. Wait… I take that back. Maybe he did get a little jealous, but it probably only lasted a millisecond…

My version of the conversation:

JYP: You really killed it the other night Nich.

Nichkhun: Thanks boss. I owe it all to you.

JYP: No problem. It’s funny because after the performance I was chatting it up with the fans but once they saw you, they kind of left me in the dust and ran off to meet you. I have to admit that it made me a little jealous.

Nichkhun: Well. Uh. I don’t know what to say. You know how the fans get someti…

JYP: *cell rings* Sorry to interrupt Nich. I need to take this call…

Hello. What’s the good word? … Those shares of stock I just bought rose? … Great. How about that Bentley I ordered? Is it in yet? … Excellent. I can’t wait to pick it up. What about that penthouse apartment I was looking at? … No. Not the one in Gangnam. The one in New York on the Upper East Side… I got it? Really?! That’s great news. Hey. Nichkhun: We were talking about some fans you met, and while you were talking to them they ran off to meet me and it made you jealous of me or something.

2PM’s Interview with Entertainment Tonight for Spris

All six members of 2PM recently had an interview with KBS2 Entertainment Tonight alongside the female actress, Seo Hyo Rim.

During the filming their ad for Spris, these hilarious boys lit up the studio with their playful personalities and humor. The interview started off with a bang when Junho then Junsu messed up the introduction, and the rest of the interview was done in a very playful manner. These boys just can’t stop making us smile!

We’ll be looking forward to more of 2PM in 2010!

2PM Spris Photos Released

News of 2PM endorsing the fashion sports brand Spris broke out earlier this week, but now we finally have the eye candy ready to be delivered!

The boys were chosen as the new representative models for the company due to their beastly image, yet the boys I’m seeing in these photos are much brighter and happier looking than usual. Fans just can’t complain when eye candy is given to them on a silver platter, but I will complain just this once. Why so sad, Woo Young? Put a smile on your face!

Aside from that tidbit, let’s bring out the eye candy, shall we?
