[MAMA] “JaeBum was with 2PM!”

2PM was 7 members during their performance on Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) on 21st November.

They performed their hits ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘Again & Again’, after Ivy and Nich Khun’s joint stage. And the highlight of the performance was Park Jin Young who did the concept of a concert conductor.

And Park JaeBum, who have left the group, was left an empty spot during the group’s performance. During the group’s ‘Again & Again’ performance, JaeBum’s empty spot was light up by spotlight.

2PM is number one in Thailand

According to Thailand's International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), 2PM is the top-selling foreign artist(s) for 2009.

2PM beat out popular artists such as Lady Gaga and Black Eyed Peas with the release of their Thailand Special Album back in June. Despite the turmoil with Jaebeom, 2PM's popularity in Thailand is still very strong. Speaking of turmoil, if you can recall, back in August TVXQ was also selected as the Most Popular Asian Artist 2009 on Thailand's Channel V Music Video Awards.

During happier times back in July, 2PM made a visit to Thailand and even visited with the Prime Minister.

I'm sure the presence of a Thai member in Nichkhun has helped 2PM's popularity in Thailand tremendously. Right now, the 6 members of 2PM are finding popularity in homeland Korea as well as they won the coveted artist of the year at Mnet's MAMA. Hopefully, their leader Jaebeom can join them in the near future.

2PM special stage at MAMA with JYP and Jaebeom (?)

We reported earlier that 2PM would be putting up a special performance for Jaebeom at MAMA on 21st November.

Well, some were expecting Jaebeom to pop out from somewhere but he didn't. Instead, it was JYP who appeared in the background as the conductor while 2PM performed Heartbeat. Later on, 2PM rounded up their stage with Again and Again. But if you notice clearly, there was an empty spot left in their second performance which was lighted up, clearly indicating that Jaebeom is still very much part of 2PM. Certainly brings back the memories and a lot of "What if...".

2PM’s Nichkhun and Ivy’s special stage at MAMA

Last year, we got to see T.O.P and Lee Hyori share a kiss during their MKMF stage. Big Bang and Lee Hyori shared a special stage last year and sang enough songs for it to be considered a concert and this year they're back, but this time, it's 2PM and Ivy.

But no it was not all of the 2PM members. It was just Nichkhun and Ivy as they tried their best to "seduce" each other with lots of touching here and there with their "World of Temptation" stage. You could tell from the performance that they prepared and practiced hard for this. They definitely took the young boy-sexy singer stage to the next level.

2PM to put on special stage for Jaebeom at MAMA

On the 21st at the Mnet Asia Music Awards (MAMA), 2PM will put on a special performance for former leader Jay Park (Jaebeom)!

Many eyes and excitement have been surrounding the group in regards to whether or not Jaebeom will attend or make his comeback with 2PM. Many fans have had their hopes up but his return at MAMA seems unrealistic when it was said, "A special performance has been prepared and it's nearly finished. Since we've been preparing this special event, it seems many rumors have been circulating."

With the recent release of their first full album 01:59PM, the group has expressed their sorrow and feeling of loss for the former leader. They've expressed their gratitude and even admitted that they are forever a 7 member group. They even left the center in their promotional photo empty to signify that no one could ever replace their leader.

Samsung Corby’s Interactive Site featuring 2PM

Though we’re still waiting for the official release of 2PM’s Corby cell phone CF, Samsung has yet again launched something else to keep us entertained while anticipating for the official release of the actual commercial film.

Samsung recently launched a fun and interactive website promoting their new Corby phones with the help of 2PM. On the site, you can click on any one of the colorful Corby phones which will then lead you to a room of the same color. Once there, (if you don’t understand Korean) you drag the boy(s) who belong to that room based on the color.

Of the many features of this site, you can watch Chansung and Junsu have a dance-off and Taecyeon doing a ‘no-handed’ pushup. The other remaining members (Wooyoung, Nichkhun, and Junho) also show their charms but I’ll let you guys watch what happens for yourselves. In addition to those features, you can also become 2PM’s stalkerazzi cameraman right from the comfort of your own home. These pictures that you can take, simulates the cell phone’s function of photographing and on top of that, you can save any of the pictures that you took!

Around a week ago, the boys of 2PM revealed a thirty-second commercial for Market O Real Brownie. The commercial was a hit and it garnered much interest from the fans, so they released a NG (No Good) video for Market O Real Brownie.

Today, we bring you pictures from behind the scenes! You can see the boys laughing, enjoying and having fun. Now don't go crazy. In one of the pictures you see Taecyeon touching a girl's [probably CF crew] hair. I'm sure some of the fangirls must have been hungry for their abs from watching their CF, but I sure was hungry from that delicious brownie. Yummm, I'm gonna go eat some brownies now...

2PM is overseas artiste with the highest album sales for 2009 in Thailand

Male idol group 2PM is the overseas artistes with the highest album sales in Thailand for year 2009.

According to JYP Entertainment on 20th November, Thailand’s IFPI(International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) released the aggregate results for album sales as of until September 2009, 2PM is the #1 overseas artistes in terms of album sales in Thailand, winning other popular singers like Utuda Hikaru, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Madonna, Mariah Carey etc.

2PM released their ‘2PM Thailand Special Edition’ album previously in June which is the compilation of their their 1st and 2nd single ‘Hottest time of the day’ and ‘2:00PM Time for Change’ together with a MV DVD.

Even before they released the album in Thailand in June, their other singles were selling really good, and even won platinum album awards.

‘2PM Thailand Special Edition’ went up to #1 on main album sales chart for B2S, Gram, Mangpong etc in Thailand. The album is also popular up on various mobile music services. Also, their hit songs like ‘10 points out of 10′, ‘Again & again’ and ‘I Hate You’ are doing well up on various TV and radio charts.

With that 2PM relayed, “We are back with our first album not long ago, and to receive such good new from abroad, our members are both honoured and excited. Thank you to all Thailand fans. We will work harder as 2PM.”

Jaebeom’s current status at Dankook University

As if it weren’t enough, KHottests, 2PM’s Korean fanbase, have done it again! These dedicated fans have dug up information regarding the Leadja’s enrollment in Dankook University, which he had previously attended.

On the 19th, a curious KHottest called up the Business Administration Office of Dankook University to see if s/he could get some clarification on Jaebeom’s enrollment within the school. The following conversation is what happened over the phone after a man answered the call.

KHottest: I’m calling to ask you one thing…

Man: Yes…

KHottest: I know that 2PM’s Park Jaebeom is a student of this school but is he on temporary absence or did he withdraw from the school?

Man: …(Pause. He murmurs to himself.) Why do you ask?

KHottest: Ah, I was just wondering how he dealt with his school issues before leaving.

Man: It doesn’t seem like he submitted any papers requesting a leave…(Keeps murmuring to himself)

KHottest: He didn’t submit any documents then? From my knowledge, if you don’t submit any documents requesting a leave, then your name gets removed from the school’s registrar…

Man: He did not send any papers of that sort.

KHottest: Then is he currently not enrolled in the school?

Man: Yes…(All the while murmuring)

The KHottest further mentions that although Jaebeom is currently not enrolled, he can return to the school after he pays for his tuition.

2PM JunSu’s best friend Jung JinWoo joins M To M for singer debut

After issues with their contracts in their previous entertainment company, the 3 membered male group M to M returned with a new member named Jung JinWoo. He has been gathering much interest after being revealed to be the best friend of JunSu of 2PM.

With the reveal of Jung JinWoo’s face with the release of their digital single, many have been wondering if he’s the person JunSu introduced on ‘Introducing A Star’s Friend.’ Pop Up Entertainment confirmed it.

M to M’s company went on to say “JunSu and Jung JinWoo are both from Daegu and grew up together as best friends. He’s received a lot of help from JunSu, who debuted first.”

2PM has been on the roll for endorsements these days - from sweet mouthwatering brownies to stylish eye-catching cell phones. And today, we are about to add another one to the list, except we aren't really sure what they are advertising either. Only a short video taken rather secretly on the set can really explain what 2PM is up to.

From what I can see, it seems like the boys are having a lot of fun singing a jolly Christmas carol around a giant cake with their former leader hidden inside. Yes, I am obviously joking around, but I know that's what you're all hoping for.

Netizens are speculating the advertisement is for Paris Baguette, a famous bakery chain throughout Korea and now even stateside. This accusation seems very plausible since the words "Paris Baguette" can be heard if you listen closely at the very end. But regardless of what the ad is for, I am pretty sure the fangirls will be psyched to see their beloved boys finally looking joyful again.

Jaebeom attended 2PM’s comeback performance

"We're always happy," is what 2PM members are touting and justifiably so, especially now.

Recent reports have surfaced that on 2PM's 6-member comeback performance on the 13th via KBS2 TV Music Bank, ex-leader Jaebeom was in attendance. Although not physically, prior to performing, Wooyoung called Jaebeom using his cellphone, to which Jaebeom said, "What time is it now?" Needless to say, the members showed how close they are and received lots of applause from others who were in the waiting room.

JYP Entertainment stated:

"It was an extremely tearful scene for everyone in the waiting room. Because 2PM has to go on without Jaebeom, as a sign of their emptiness, they had decided to withdraw from variety shows."

2PM dominating Monkey3 online weekly music chart

2PM is said to have dominated the Monkey3 weekly chart.
For the 2nd week of music site Monkey3 (9th~15th Nov), 2PM’s ‘Tired Of Waiting’ is #1 on the weekly chart. Also 2 other songs are on the top 10 ranks – ‘Crazy For You’ at #8 and ‘Heartbeat’ at #9.
A staff from Monkey3 said, “You can see fans’ heated support for 2PM. 3 songs are up on the chart as soon as the full length album is released. We are also seeing great responses for the new songs and also remix version of the songs included in the album.”
Meanwhile, Brown Eyed Girls‘ new song ‘Sign’ is at #2 position for the 2nd week through. Last week #1 on the chart was 2NE1 Park Bom’s solo single ‘You and I’.

2PM recently released their full album 1:59PM along with a MV for their title-song Heartbeat. Through what seemed like an endless number of teasers, they raised the hype amongst fans, creating a domination among music portal sites with their first track, Tired of Waiting. However, we've got bad news for fans - it is looking like you won't be seeing 2PM on variety shows any time soon! These variety show masters have revealed plans to stay away from being the funny guys they are for a while.

A representative stated:

"We set a policy that 2PM will not be cast in variety shows. They will focus more on activities related to music programs."

It seems like a huge part of the reason is because of the problems related to Jaebeom that is still up in the air. This makes 2PM be in a bad situation to be cast in variety programs for the sake of fans and viewers.

Following their first comeback performance yesterday at Oh Yeah! Concert, they will have their second comeback performance on this week's Music Bank.
