All members of 2PM were present at this fanmeeting that was held for Market O. 2PM endorsed Market O not too long ago and even filmed a CF for the Market O Real Brownies. It’s hard these days to see all of them together because each one of them have such busy schedules.

2PM gave out personally signed items to 1,000 fans.

There were so many fans lined up to see these boys. You could see signs here and there that were in support of Jaebeom.

Preview for Win Win featuring 2PM’s Wooyoung & SNSD’s Taeyeon

A few days ago we reported that 2PM’s Wooyoung along with SNSD / Girls’ Generation leader Taeyeon would be assistant MC’s of a new talk show on KBS titled “Win Win.” The show will be co-hosted by both Choi Hwa Jung and Kim Shin Young.The show is scheduled to debut on February 3rd and is replacing Sang Sang Plus. Taecyeon to star in a drama?

It looks like Taecyeon of 2PM will join the long list of singers turned actors!

It’s been confirmed that he will be playing the male lead in the upcoming drama “Cinderella’s Sister” (신데렐라 언니).

Taecyeon will be playing the role of Jungwoo, who is an intelligent, strong, and honest young adult. His character is also a bit naïve and has a crush on Eunjo, “Cinderella’s” step-sister, who will be played by Moon Geun Young.

A representative for the drama said, “Although Taecyeon isn’t an experienced actor, his bright personality keeps him from being overwhelmed by the more experienced cast of Moon Geun Young, Chan Jungmyung, and Suh Woo. We trust that Taecyeon will be able to give life to his character which is why we chose him.”

This is Moon Geun Young’s first attempt at being the antagonist in a drama, so things should be interesting for the very innocent actress.

“Cinderella’s Sister” is set to air this March, so stay tuned!

2PM’s Wooyoung & SNSD’s Taeyeon to MC for upcoming talk show!

KBS has a new idol talk show coming up called Win Win, and it’s got an impressive line-up of regulars: 2PM’s Wooyoung, SNSD’s Taeyeon and Kim Seung Woo!

“Wooyoung and Taeyeon will participate as assistant MCs,” Park Jung Mi of the KBS staff expressed. It has been confirmed that Choi Hwa Jung and Kim Shin Young will be the official cohosts on this show.

“We haven’t decided on the complete list of assistant MCs, but we will reveal it as soon as it is confirmed … Because this is Kim Seung Woo’s first time MCing, Taeyeon [who has experience from her radio show ChinChin] will help him. Wooyoung also has experience as an MC on SBS Inkigayo.”

Win Win will be replacing KBS Sang Sang Plus next month. Who’s anticipating this show?

Battle of the idol actors: SuJu’s Siwon vs. 2PM’s Taecyeon

It’s round two for the idol boys. Remember how DBSK’s U-Know Yunho and Big Bang’s T.O.P had drama debuts at the same time? That was quite a battle and although it’s not written in stone, T.O.P definitely won with IRIS.

Now it’s round two: Super Junior’s Choi Siwon vs. 2PM’s Taecyeon. This is the first time Taecyeon is acting but Siwon’s done it before. Siwon has been cast for SBS Oh! My Lady and Taecyeon has been cast for KBS Cinderella’s Sister.

Siwon will be playing the role of a rude celebrity actor. An actor playing an actor, how perfect! The plot will revolve around a love story, where he starts living with his manager and they fall in love.

In terms of experience, Siwon wins. He starred in a drama called KBS 2TV’s Eighteen Twenty-Nine in 2005 and has acted in various projects ever since. But if Taecyeon is a able to pull off acting as well he rips off his shirt, then I’m sure he’ll do fine. Not to mention, it’s been confirmed that Taecyeon did train for acting and modeling before he became part of 2PM.

You’ll see who wins this battle in late March. But I’m thinking it’ll depend on the drama, not the idol.

Behind the scenes with 2PM and Yoon Eun Hye for Cass Beer

Remember the commercials for Cass Beer featuring 2PM’s Taecyeon and Nichkhun along with the beautiful Yoon Eun Hye? Well, it seems there’s some more commercials in store for us as 2PM’s Wooyoung and Junsu were recently spotted on the set of an upcoming Cass Beer CF along with the original trio.

MBC’s Section TV also interviewed the participants of the CF. Unfortunately, the other members of 2PM couldn’t join in on the fun as they’re under the legal age of consuming alcohol.

The best part of the segment below is when Junsu spills beer on Yoon Eun Hye and the 2PM boys have to clean up the mess. Junsu felt bad and apologized in a quiet voice afterwards. Taecyeon also stated that he drinks a lot of beer but Nichkhun responds that he can’t drink a lot. Taecyeon pushes him and Junsu says to stop kidding around. JYP’s Stylist on 2PM

The mastermind behind 2PM’s zombie concept and winner of Project Runway Korea, Lee Woo Kyung, was offered to become JYP’s official style director earlier last year. On Style Magazine 2010, the stylist spilled the dirt on what it was like to work with JYP and 2PM.

With regard to the creation of the zombie outfits for 2PM, Lee Woo Kyung stated:

“I tried to match the styles of the outfits to the 6 members and their individual styles. Because of Chansung and Taecyeon’s height and great build, well-fitting outfits would suit them best. Junho and Junsu are much shorter in comparison to the rest of the members, so putting them in outfits that made them look tall and skinny worked well. Wooyoung and Nichkhun are the group’s skinniest members and thus look weak on stage.

Nichkhun has the most model-like figure out of the 6 members, so I added a jacket vest to make him stand out. His individual outfit suits him best and he is the only one who can wear it properly.”

Lee Woo Kyung also revealed of her previous fateful encounter with the big man himself. She shared that during her college years, she was walking around the streets of Manhattan, spotted JYP and immediately dashed towards him. As soon as she made her presence known she blurted, “I want to be Rain’s stylist.”

Soon after accepting the offer to work for JYP, the two met once more. Unable to hide his surprise, JYP stated,“It really is fate.”

Fate, destiny, whatever it may be, one thing is definitely for sure: Lee Woo Kyung does her job quite well. Having the opportunity to work with some of the hottest guys in kpop makes her most likely envied by several fans across the globe. Hopefully we will see her latest when the boys of 2PM make their heavily anticipated comeback!

Yoon Eun Hye and Nichkhun spotted at the airport

As most of you already know, 2PM’s beastly idols Taecyeon and Nichkhun have been working with model, actress, and singer Yoon Eun Hye for a Cass Beer commercial film. Although short versions of the CF have been released, we are still waiting for the full music video to drop.

However, a short fancam of Nichkhun and Yoon Eun Hye has been circulating the internet, in which the two were spotted at Incheon Airport. Despite their attempt to remain unseen, a pair of sunglasses couldn’t keep a sharp-eyed fan from noticing them. I mean, how can you not? They are practically emitting an aura of beauty that is bound to crack necks from doing a double take.

It is very possible that Nichkhun and Yoon Eun Hye are filming for the Cass Beer CF, but where are they headed? Stay tuned to allkpop to find out.

JYPE denies Jaebeom music video rumor

It seems like it’s just another rumor after all.

Earlier, Newsen reported a rumor stating that Jaebeom, ex-leader of 2PM, would be returning as the main character of a music video in the States. JYPE has already denied the legitimacy of this rumor.

JYPE said to MoneyToday News on the 22nd:

Truthfully, we are very unaware of this. Jaebeom did not record a music video in America. We talked to our contacts in America and found out that this never happened. We don’t understand why people who have no relation to Jaebeom keep making up rumors. We’re very disappointed.

How many rumors have come up over the past two days? But I’m sure this isn’t the end of them.

Jaebeom is returning with a music video?

Many rumors regarding ex-2PM leader Jaebeom have surfaced in the past day, and Newsen has a few more for us!

Today, it was reported that Jaebeom completed a filming session for a music video in the United States. Many predict that this footage is preparation for Jaebeom’s comeback to Korea. One entertainment related source stated:

The music video features Jaebeom as the main character. It looks like they are going to release the music video soon and officially state Jaebeom’s return.

Although many believe that Jaebeom will definitely return, others think that Jaebeom may return to Korea to restart his career as a solo artist instead. Along with the solo artist rumor and Jaebeom starring in a Hollywood movie Hype Nation speculation, word’s gotten around that Jaebeom might be a permanent member of MBC’s Come To Play.

After denying the press conference, JYP Entertainment again stated that nothing has been decided yet. These are just rumors so readers should have reservations about everything that’s being released right now. But who knows? Anything is possible.

Jo Kwon was going to be in 2PM

2AM’s Jo Kwon was a guest along with his fellow member Changmin, CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa and F.T.Island’s Lee Hongki on Golden Fishery – Radio Star today where he revealed a surprising secret.

Kim Gura told him, “You would fit in 2PM too.” Jo Kwon replied, “I was actually a 2PM member.”

Jo Kwon continued,

After “This Song” was released, JYP decided I should be the leader of 2AM for marketing reasons. He thought my 8 years as a trainee made me a vocal killer. In terms of popularity, I think 2PM beats 2AM.

Kim Gura told him, “That’s not true. You have permanent spots on all three broadcasting stations’ variety programs.”

Jo Kwon then said, “I think I saved 2AM.”

Taecyeon is furious after netizens’ remarks

Taecyeon of 2PM has been furious over his leaked cyworld photos incident, which caused him to shut down his page. He recently re-opened his cyworld, but changed the photo folder names to “Turn yourself in picture-leaker.”

Just when he was in the process of cooling down, netizens have been criticizing him for being mad about such a simple thing. Hottests then joined in to defend Taecyeon, which started an internet war. Some netizens crossed the line, as they said things like “If you have time to update your cyworld, why don’t you practice your vocals.” After weeks of holding it in, Taecyeon finally blew.

He left a message on his cyworld titled “Please read if you’re a fan that loves and cares for me”. The message said:

I only uploaded the pictures of Shinae and Harry because I wanted to say “Turn yourself in now picture leaker!” It had nothing to do with the criticism of netizens~ Why would I start off depressed right when I opened my cyworld?? And to the netizen on nate, I’ll practice my singing in the time I have for cyworld. Because I am a rapper, and you’re telling me to practice my vocals, of course I’ll work hard! You guys know that the only reason I wrote this was to communicate with my fans who are interested and to let everything out, right?

The translation in english is a little confusing, but Taecyeon was being very sarcastic. Anyway, the message was taken down shortly after he posted it.

Chansung hangs out with 2AM in the studio

Earlier today we heard the teaser for 2AM’s track To Her (그녀에게) which features 2PM’s Chansung. 2AM’s official youtube page updated a teaser video showing 2AM and Chansung together in the studio.

When Chansung was asked to do the rap part out loud, 2AM’s Changmin jokingly calls Taecyeon and says we need your help for the rap part. Check out the brotherly love between the two groups below.

JYPE Denies Press Conference on Jaebeom

Starnews has now released a new report which states that JYPE has denied that there will be a press conference regarding Jaebeom.

The agency of 2PM’s former member Park Jaebeom, JYP Entertainment,
has denied reports of a press conference on the 24th stating, “No.”

An associate of JYPE stated through an interview with Money Today on the 21st, “We do not have any plans on releasing information about Jaebeom’s current course of action or the company’s official stance.”

Other associates of JYPE also stated, “We have yet to hear anything regarding the company’s official announcement regarding Jaebeom.”

That was a bit of a rollercoaster ride for fans. We will continue to monitor this case and situation, stay tuned.

Jaebeom not returning?

Naver.com reported on a new unofficial statement regarding 2PM’s former leader Jaebeom.

On the 21st of January (KST) a JYPE representative revealed that it is very doubtful that Jaebeom will return to the group.

Nothing is official yet and this is an unofficial statement, but it has to be making fans uneasy.

Many were expecting Jaebeom’s return after the 1:59 promotions ended, but until the upcoming press conference on the 24th, nothing can be said for sure.

Until then, readers should take everything reported with a grain of salt and know that anything can happen.

Jaebeom to star in Hollywood movie?

It’s just been revealed that 2PM’s ex-leader Jaebeom has received love calls to be the male lead in the b-boy Hollywood flick, Hype Nation.

We’ve heard a lot about this movie already, with BoA and Son Dambi, who were both supposed to star in it, but later declined or pulled out.

Anyway, the producer of the movie apparently informed JYP Entertainment that they want Jaebeom to be the lead male role for Hype Nation and that JYP Entertainment is currently reviewing whether or not to take the offer.

However, when Newsen requested information from JYP Entertainment regarding this matter, JYPE responded with, “We don’t know about this.”

But who knows, maybe they will reveal this along with the news that everyone is waiting to hear at the press conference on the 24th.

JYPE to hold press conference on Jaebeom

Metroseoul released an article in regards to JYPE holding a press conference on the 24th, where they will most likely release information on Jaebeom’s return or official leave.

2PM’s agency JYP Entertainment will be making a company announcement on the course of action for Jaebum. An associate stated that JYPE will be holding a press conference on the 24th, although the actual content of the conference is not yet revealed.

There are two possible topics that the conference could touch on. 2PM Jaebum’s complete withdrawal or a return sounds like a reasonable guess since the company’s official stance has been much requested.

First, the possibility for Jaebum’s return is that the public and press alike believe that it is the perfect time for his return. The boycott stance that the fans took after Jaebum’s leave last September has put much pressure on the company.

On the 15th, 2PM’s gyopo fans even put out an ad in a Los Angeles newspaper, proving that the interest and attention of fans have yet to be answered and that JYPE must come out with an official statement. On the 17th, 2PM also completed their first album promotions and there is much hope that Jaebum will be a part of their coming album release.

However, apart from these speculations, there lies a heavier weight on the fans. The press conference was originally set to be on the 21st but since it was the day of 2AM’s album release, the conference was delayed to the 24th after their STV ‘Inkigayo’ comeback performance.

It appears to be a tactic to prevent bad news in the face of 2AM’s return, as the company fully knows that 2PM fans alike are supporting 2AM. Although there has yet to be an official announcement or background on Jaebum’s complete withdrawal, should JYPE reveal it on the 24th, the music world will surely be shaken up again.

More photos of 2PM for 10×10 “Kiss Me” campaign released

Earlier this month, 10×10 revealed that 2PM would be hosting a special “Kiss Me” event in which twelve lucky winners would win surprise gifts. We still have no idea what these gifts will be, but in the meantime, 10×10 has released some new 2PM-related products, including a set of 2PM polaroids and cellphone covers.

To go along with these products, 10×10 released some obligatory eye candy featuring the boys up to no good as usual. They even put on lipstick to take photos for the Kiss Me event I guess… I don’t know how I feel about that. Check out the photos here:

2PM’s Taecyeon poses with High Kick 2 kids and supports 2AM

2PM’s Taecyeon might be a bit enraged over photo leaks from his minihompy but that hasn’t prevented him from posting on it. He recently updated his minihompy with a photo taken with High Kick Through The Roof 2 actresses 서신애 Seo Shin Ae and 진지희 Jin Ji Hee.

One astute commentator noted that 서신애 Seo Shin Ae’s head is the same size as Taecyeon’s.

He also recently changed the title of his minihompy with “2AM!! 대박내자!! (2AM!! Let’s do Daebak!!)” showing his support for his label mates as they prepare their comeback.

Are idols suffering from scandal marketing?

As many of you have noticed, the entertainment industry has taken a shift into utilizing scandals between idols to generate more buzz and bring in more viewership.

Recent examples would be the performance put on by 2PM’s Taecyeon and SNSD’s Yoona at the year end Gayo Daejun, followed by the announcement of their pairing in Family Outing Season 2.

Another example would be the whole Big Bang Daesung and Kara Kang Ji Young texting scandal.

Although such scandals typically generate a lot of interest and bring in more viewers for the tv stations, is it actually beneficial for the idols who are being used? Entertainment industry professionals don’t believe so.

“At one point, there were a lot of fake relationship concepts between stars, which was a hit, but it has since slowed down. Now young idols, where the fandoms have no choice but to be more sensitive are being used for scandal marketing purposes. It’s true however, it doesn’t look good.”

Another industry professional stated:

“Of course on variety programs, it’s acceptable to create scandals. However, the scandals are never properly cleared up, so in the end it’s the idols who suffer. I hope there can be more mature discussions regarding this tactic.”

It’s definitely true, although these scandals created by the broadcast companies and show producers bring in higher ratings, at the end of the day these young idols are just victims of a vicious marketing strategy. On the other hand, perhaps these constant scandals will create an immunity, where fan girls and boys will realize that stars have every right to date and sleep with each other. So long as it’s caught on camera of course and released through allkpop – now that’s some real scandal marketing, yeah?
